Award winning sedan 2006 Honda Civic hits the market

Honda has gone all out with its new 2006 Civic Sedan and has succeeded brilliantly.

The car has already won the 2006 Canadian Economy Car of the Year Award presented by AJAC (Automobile Journalist Association of Canada) and the influential Motor US Motor Trend magazine Car of the Year Award for 2006.

So what makes the Civic so good?

Bobby Sahota, 26, Customer Sales Rep at Surrey Honda, one of the BC mainland‘s biggest Honda dealers says ‘The new Civic offers so much for the money, power windows, ABS brakes, side curtain air bags, ECT as standard,” he said.

“Customers are waiting two or three months for delivery due to demand for the car”

For 2006 The Civic Sedan comes in four trim lines: ranging from $16,800 to $23,000 all powered by a new 1.8-litre four-cylinder 140 horsepower engine which is quite a bit more powerful than the 2005 models and translates into quicker acceleration and top speed.

However the engine is remarkably fuel efficient.

A five-speed manual transmission is standard, but you can order an automatic for $1,200.

REVAMPED INTERIOR
The new Civic has decent sized doors for easy entry and exit and its high roofline means it‘s not a chore when trying to fit a baby seat in the rear or strap an errant child in their seat.

Quality of the materials and controls is very high, but the seats are a little on the hard side.

On the road the Civic is a smooth, comfortable car to drive with an easy manual gear shift and light steering.

The Civics seats five and the more powerful engine mean it‘s a fun to drive.

The car feels safe and reassuring if you carry kids or passengers on a regular basis.

Recommended as one the best economy cars on the market and deserves every award it wins.

Housewife, 42 year old Eunice Chow from Richmond is one lucky lady who recently took delivery of her new 2006 Honda Civic and is delighted with the new car.

“I've always driven a Honda and this is our third Civic in the family. It is more powerful and we like the shape and the interior of this new one”

“I‘ve always driven Honda‘s and this is our third Civic in the family. It is more powerful and we like the shape and the interior of this new one.

“It‘s a little expensive to buy I think, but its good on gas and the resale is high.

“Not the that we will sell it. My kids already have their eye on it!” she said.

PROS
Up to date styling beat competition, more power and standard features on the base model, good resale. Ideal family or commuter car.

CONS
Can start to get expensive on high spec models with options. No incentives and a long waiting list.
