TELUS presents VIBC 2007
Vancouver is the City of Bhangra! In January 2007, Vancouver hosts the third annual Vancouver International Bhangra Celebration. The event will feature a week of Bhangra-related events and activities throughout Downtown Vancouver.

Imagine performing in front of a diverse, eclectic & multicultural crowd. We're giving local and international performers the opportunity to experience the excitement of live performance at a unique, 5-day Bhangra festival in the heart of Downtown Vancouver.

While performing at North America's premiere Bhangra festival, you'll have the opportunity to perform alongside international talent and attend Bhangra-related events throughout Vancouver.

If you are an enthusiastic and experienced Bhangra and/or Punjabi folk singer, dancer or poet, VIBC 2007 has several events where you can showcase your talent. To perform at TELUS presents VIBC 2007, download the VIBC Performer Registration Package, complete it and submit the package by December 20, 2006, or contact Jeetendra Kumar, Artistic Coordinator, at [email protected]or 604.436.3607.

The interest was phenomenal and we would like to thank all the teams who sent in their registration packages. Although, we would love to host all the teams who applied, sadly we can only support ten competing teams at this event. Experience the art of Bhangra on canvas. This exhibit will feature the works of local artists Ravi Gill, Shab Safarkhah, Kirnjot Brar, Prerna Sisodia, Sarita Mann, Jasmeen Bains and Rupinder Sidhu.

Free. Live performances by local musicians, singers and dancers with a modern and fusion twist. The evening concludes with a live concert featuring Vancouver’s own, Signia! Checkout Signia's performance at the VIBC 2006 Launch Party, hosted by Beat without Borders here. Signia has performed at a number of international events, completed an international tour, and is set to launch their second album, Signiatures in the next few months. Come out and here some of their latest tracks as they perform live with a full band!
