Kidney King’s Canadian mansion up for sale

Amit Kumar

The Brampton house of Amit Kumar, the  alleged mastermind of the multi-million-rupee kidney racket ring, which was put  on sale online, has been taken off from the list for unknown  reasons.

The 5,600 sq ft spacious house on Pali Drive in the upscale  Indian neighbourhood was listed Thursday for sale at $634,900 on an online real  estate portal. March 20 was the deadline for the bids but the listing was  suspended Monday.

Kumar had bought the spacious house for $610,000 last  year. They had $150,000 in cash and the rest the amount came through mortgage by  theRoyal Bank of Canada.

It carried a monthly instalment of a little  less than $3,000.

Kumar's wife Poonam and two sons lived in the house  when the kidney scam came to light in January.

After staying indoors for  several days, Poonam slipped out of the house with her kids Feb 8, a day after  Kumar was arrested in a Nepal guesthouse.

She has not been back since  then. The young boys have also not gone back to the school nearby.

Poonam's whereabouts are unknown and her mobile numbers remain  suspended.

Kumar was in Brampton till Christmas when he was seen at  year-end parties at his friends' places.
