Punjabi painters featured in Fort Langley exhibit

The Langley Centennial Museum’s newest exhibit, From Across the Oceans: Diversity in Local Art features the work of several Lower Mainland artists who are immigrants to Canada.
The exhibit includes two painters from India: Jarnail Singh and his wife Baljit Kaur.
Singh’s work includes the show’s largest canvas painting, a depiction of ‘Maharaja Ranjit Singh with Generals Hari Singh Nalwa and Sham Singh Atari’.
The Exhibition mounted by Inta and Curator Kobe Howard at Fort Langley Centennial Museum showcases the work of 14 artists from Lower Mainland, who have come across the oceans to make
Canada their adopted home.
The other artists include Jong-Jin Lee, Chih-Hsiung (Jackson) Chien, Elena Sambuev, Iris Chen, Lily Ao, Valéri Sokolovski, En-Wei (Michael) Jao, Kosheng Ko, Shu-Chen Huang, Juma Wu, Seonok Lee, and Sandra Lin.
The exhibit runs from September 7 to January 9.
