Documentary series showcases BC’s South Asian community

Vancouver-based filmmaker and news editor R. Paul Dhillon’s has produced an eight-episode documentary series that profiles South Asians who are actively involved in BC’s cultural, political, and business scene.
The series entitled Reflections: South Asian Stories, is currently airing on OMNI and features prominent community members ranging from political figures such as Moe Sihota, the former NDP MLA, to businessmen like Peter Dhillon, the scion of a cranberry empire.
Numerous others are also captured in action by Dhillon’s lens, including an Olympic wrestler, the founder of the Fruiticana grocery chain, a religious activist, and the unsung men and women who are working to celebrate Punjabi language literature in the province.
Dhillon has produced over two dozen documentaries and television features, including the film Sweet Amerika starring Bollywood veteran Gulshan Grover.
His previous work also includes the music series Bhangralicous and the documentary The Bhangra Generation.
Reflections airs each Saturday on OMNI at 3PM.
