Namaste Canada comes to Surrey

The Consulate General of India, Vancouver, in cooperation with over 20 Indo-Canadian Associations and Cultural Societies in B.C, is proud to host "Namaste Canada 2016", a free day-long cultural event on Sunday, September 4th, 2016.

The event to be held at the Surrey Arts Centre is an enthralling journey of India giving the audience  glimpses of rural India , technologically advanced India, cinematic India, and musical India, said the organisers.

The objective of the event is to bring together the Indian diaspora around a common platform annually to celebrate India's rich cultural heritage and celebrate the flourishing ties between India and Canada.

On display will be a colorful visual tour representing customs and traditions of the different states of India, with events encompassing classical and folklore performances in customary attire and use of traditional musical instruments.

Namaste Canada will also feature interesting presentations by speakers and have some of the latest documentaries on various subjects spread over three different halls in Surrey Art Center.

Activities include:

classical and folklore performances in customary attire and the use of traditional musical instruments

interesting presentations on travel, and documentaries of India

numerous food vendors with a variety of Indian and local food items to savor throughout the day.
