Not from BCIT, the CMA Designation requires students to also be working full time along with completing the education element. But BCIT and CMA both have employment websites and placements available.
Advice - What kind of advice can you give to students who are considering a career in your field?
You don’t have to love numbers but rather you should be a peoples' person, whom at the same time thrives on challenges.
Starting at a junior accounting position within a medium sized company will help lay the solid foundation for the required experience to further lead you into middle / senior accounting or management roles.
Having diversified accounting work experience backed by an accounting designation is what employers look for in key positions. Think and be positive, it affects everyone you interact with.
