Members of “www.sikhcess.com” sponsored a free kitchen (langar) dubbed “ Feed the Homeless Campaign from Sikh Community at Main & Hastings in Vancouver on the evening of Feb 24th to feed the homeless. It took about 90 minutes to feed 2,000 of the unfortunate souls living harshly in the streets of Vancouver.
This volunteer group aims to hold open ‘langars’ on a monthly basis, which is a concept where the “haves” feed the “have-nots” regardless of either caste, colour, or creed. According to Indy Panchi, a member, “It is an honour to feed such needy people, and the expressions on their faces when they see members of our community distributing free food is amazing.”
