The Tibetan Cultural Society of British Columbia (TCS) and Tsengdok Monastery Association are hosting Tibet Festival Vancouver on August 27.
The event runs from 11AM to 7PM and features Tibetan music and dance, visual arts and food vendors. There will also be a Himalayan market.
Performances will include Tibetan spiritual chants and ritual dances, Tibetan Children of BC playing and singing songs that have been passed to them from their elders, and highly acclaimed professional artists performing traditional folk and contemporary music.
Everyone at the festival will be invited to join the fun of community “kor shey” (circle dances).
Proceeds from the Festival will be donated to the Tibetan Resettlement Project, a humanitarian initiative to resettle to Canada 1000 displaced Tibetans who currently reside in Arunachal Pradesh, a remote State in the far North East of India.
