Vancouver hunts for Asia’s next superstar

The quest for Asia’s next big superstar is happening right here in Vancouver.
Fairchild Radio is hosting its annual Sunshine Nation contest, co-organised with Comic Productions / Meteor Garden Productions.
In past years the contest has produced winners who have gone on to stardom in Asia.
The list of alumni include 2004 Sunshine Boyz Champion, Calvin Chen who is now a member of Fahrenheit, one of the hottest boy groups in Taiwan.
Other notable winners include 2005 Sunshine Boyz Champion Alex Lee who is now a popular artist in China; Eric Lee, 2004 Sunshine Boyz 2nd runner up who went on to star in Taiwan television dramas; 1999 Sunshine Girlz 2nd runner up, Rabee’a Yeung is a busy actress and program host in Hong Kong and last but not least, our 2007 Sunshine Nation contestant, Kitty Lee, who has made it to the final round of the Miss Hong Kong contest.
Contestants in this year’s Sunshine Nation contest which takes place August 26th, will be eligible to win cash scholarships, an Apple iPad, travel coupons, and various other prizes worth over $7,000.
More importantly, they will have the opportunity to launch an acting career overseas.
As a starter, the Boyz and Girlz Champions will be featured on the cover of the nationally distributed Popular Lifestyle and Entertainment Magazine as well as being the leads in a music video.
Tickets to the finale of Sunshine Nation 2011 are on sale at Fairchild Radio (unit 2090 of Aberdeen Centre, 4151 Hazelbridge Way, Richmond).  Ticket price is $30 including HST.
