SUCCESS celebrate care facility anniversary

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Multi-Level Care Society will provide additional 8 beds to the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Simon K. Y. Lee Seniors Care Home.
2011 marks the 10th anniversary of Simon Lee Seniors Home.
"This was our very first senior health service. Over the past years, we have successfully expanded the scope of services to the seniors," said Derrick Chow, Vice Chair of the non-profit society.
The home was opened to provide complex care for 103 residents with a special care unit that provides specialized care for elders with Alzheimer’s in 2001.
It was followed by the opening of the Chieng’s Adult Day Centre in 2003 and the Harmony House (Assisted Living) in 2006.
This allows elders the opportunity to age in one place. As their needs change, the residents can move with the necessary care without leaving the home they have come to know and the relationships they have developed.
The Austin Harris Residence in Richmond was opened in August, 2007. The 50-unit purposely built Assisted Living project provides hospitality services and accommodation to the two distinct groups of Chinese and non-Chinese residents.
The care home also provides 150-180 Chinese meals for seniors in Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby through the Chinese Meals on Wheels Program.
A series of activities, including open houses and the celebration dinner will be organized to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the care home.
Open Houses will be hosted in Richmond and Vancouver on August 18 and 19 respectively. Tours will be conducted in three languages-English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
