Private schools dominate BC school report card

The Fraser Institute issued this week its Report Card on Elementary and Secondary Schools in British Columbia. The report card is based on a number of indicators of school performance that are then combined into one score and ranking.
Surrey’s Khalsa School finished 25th on the list of 860 elementary schools province wide. Abbotsford’s Dasmesh Punjabi School finished 36. Both rose significantly in the rankings.
Vancouver’s Khalsa School finished 203rd on the list.
Religious based and private schools performed the best on the list.
The indicators are measured annually and can assess each school’s performance in a year and its improvement or deterioration over time. There are seven indicators used to rate each school’s academic performance.
