Centenarian veteran honours Canadian soldiers

102 year old World War II veteran Captain Daulat Singh Deol joined members of the Canadian Forces at the Annual Sikh Remembrance Day Ceremony held in Mount Hope Cemetery in Kitchener. Captain Daulat Singh joined the British Indian Army in 1929 and was wounded in combat in 1944 during the liberation of northern Italy from the Nazi’s during World War II. The ceremony was held at the gravesite of Canadian World War I hero Pvt. Buckam Singh Private - the only military grave in Canada of a Sikh soldier from the World Wars.
