Shiamak Davar

Shiamak Davar is India’s No. 1 choreographer, whose award winning works can be seen in several Bollywood films.  Davar’s Indo Jazz style of choreography won him awards for his first Bollywood venture, Dil To Pagal Hai.


His commercial success continued with Bunty aur Bubly, Taal, Kisna and most recently, Taare Zameen Pe. Besides dancing, Davar has acted in several English theatre productions like Evita, Tommy, Othello, Last tango in heaven, My fair lady to name a few.

 

Dancer par excellance, Davar has formed the Shiamak’s Indo Jazz Dance Movement in 1992 in Mumbai, India which has expanded in all the major Indian cities and several international cities such as Melbourne, Dubai and of course, Vancouver as well as Calgary and Toronto.

 
Apart from combining contemporary Indian styles with Western techniques, Davar’s Indo-Jazz dance movement also emphasizes personal growth, de-stress, fitness and fun for all. Classes are held according to specific age groups for children, youth and adults.


Among his achievements- Davar and his students have rocked cities across the globe with performances at the World Economic Forum, the 2006 Commonwealth Games and several Bollywood films.


Davar accepts students as young as four-year-old and dance lessons inlcude workouts and funfilled dance routine that lasts for about 60-90 minutes. He also introduced personalised classes for fitness and dance. Students can be trained in dance routines performed to songs of their choice for specific events such as weddings, birthday parties among others.


The Shiamak’s Indo Jazz Dance Movement Team has registered itself for The Vancouver Sun Run, on April 20 at 9 a.m.


The Vancouver Sun Run, presented by HSBC Bank Canada, is Canada’s largest 10 km run and the second largest in North America.


Shiamak encourages his team and all his students to be a part of this exciting event. The entire team of Shiamak’s instructors in Vancouver will surely be there along with the SPB (Special Potential Batch) group and are hoping to have you join them in the run.
