Bands go head to head for the 2008 Vancouver Spring RockBand Championship title, presented by Tom Lee Music.

With the popularity of the video game RockBand, fans are becoming virtual musicians, instead of watching their favourite bands on MTV or DVD.

For the first time in Vancouver, gamers and wanna-be-rock stars had a chance to compete in a championship series which began six weeks ago. With twelve bands lefts, excitement is building.

The final, which is open to the public, will be Saturday.

Winners will receive real guitars, drums and equipment, plus music lessons from Tom Lee Music. The sponsors are Fender, Yamaha, Sony and PlayStation.
