The Royal Bank of Canada sponsored a citizenship ceremony at Vancouver's Canada Place on July 1. This was the first such citizenship ceremony sponsored by RBC. Eighty new Canadians took their oaths on Canada Day.
“The sponsorship was the first of what we hope will become a tradition for RBC right across this country," Graham MacLachlan said. “We are also challenging ourselves and others to do more to support the success of new Canadians,” he added. “Our clients and our employees come from all over the world which is why we are committed to the success of new Canadians.”
“It is a privilege to share in this milestone with Canada’s newest citizens as they begin their journey as Canadians,” said MacLachlan. “RBC has been and continues to be very outspoken on the important role immigration plays in Canada’s social, cultural and economic development.”
