Cricket Legend Wasim Akram Visits Abbotsford

South Asian celebrity Wasim Akram (ICC Hall of Famer & one of the best fast bowlers in the history of cricket) helps RBC give a boost to cricket in Abbotsford

What:    Legendary cricketer Wasim Akram will be mentoring local cricketers, signing autographs (open to the public) and presenting a check for $25,000 to the City of Abbotsford. The donation, on behalf of the RBC Foundation, is for cricket refurbishments at Clearbrook Park. The visit is part of RBC’s week-long tour through cricket hotbeds in the Greater Toronto and Greater Vancouver areas. As RBC cricket ambassador the former Pakistan national team star is helping build a sport that is a core element in community-building for many newcomers in Canada.
