The growing popularity of the multi-disciplinary approach to research and scholarship has always hinted at the union of the ultimate polarity - science and religion.
Though this union has hinted at profound truths, the synthesis of theological hermeneutic and the scientific method has yet to become the standard paradigm for interpreting reality.
A group of leading academics in the field of Sikh Studies will continue to explore the union of science and religion through a seminar entitled Guru Nanak’s “Philosophy and Science”.
This unique conference is being hosted by the Institute for Understanding Sikhism (IUS) from Laval, Quebec, the Centre for Indo Canadian Studies (University of the Fraser Valley), and the Khalsa Diwan Society of Abbotsford, where the event is being held.
Lectures to be delivered include amongst others:
• The Place of Ritualism in Sikhism by Amarjit Singh Chahal
• Guru Nanak’s Philosophy and Sikh Feminist Ideology by Satwinder Kaur Bains (PhD)
• Guru Nanak’s Philosophy and Ethics in the Corporate World by Amandeep Singh Sidhu
