Ross Street Temple hosts food drive for needy

For two weeks, KDS Ross Gurdwara will be hosting a joint food drive with Sources Community Resource Centre to collect items for South Asian families in need. KDS Ross will begin collecting food items on Sunday July 19th at 9:30am until Sunday Aug. 2nd.
In regards to the food drive, the organizing executive decided to cooperate with Sources CRC after it learned South Asian families were in need of food items specific to their cultural diet. These food items are in short supply at other food banks and usually are not attainable.
“Combining our responsibilities to the community of social justice and our resources of a food supply, the Executive at KDS Ross has requested the congregation to bring extra food items so we can help establish a small food rationing program at Sources CRC,” says Pall Singh Beesla, KDS Ross Executive’s Senior Assistant Treasurer.
In the past, KDS Ross has done an annual food drive to help the Vancouver Food Bank. People can learn more about Sources Community Resource Centre through their reps on Sunday July 19th from 9:30 am-1pm at the KDS Ross Gurdwara.
