The search for the biggest cricket fan is on!
MoneyGram continues its mission to bring together cricket fans all over the world with the recent launch of MoneyGram Cricket Bee.
The competition allows cricket fans to vie for prizes while sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for the game.
Open to participants 18 and older, the contest will begin with regional rounds in New Jersey, San Francisco and Toronto. The regional contest will have two components: a written test and an oral test.
In the written qualifier, contestants will be asked 35 questions. They must get at least 25 correct in order to advance to the oral round.
In the oral round, the contest will be held on a miss and out basis, which means that if a contestant misses the right answer, they will be eliminated. The top three contestants from each regional round will join the finals, and the person who emerges as cricket’s biggest fan in the finals will receive a cash prize of $10,000.
“MoneyGram has been heavily involved in cricket since 2011 with our ICC sponsorship,” says Joann Chatfield, MoneyGram’s vice president of marketing. “MoneyGram Cricket Bee is a platform that further bolsters the game, and is in line with our commitment to remain involved and be supportive of the South Asian community.”
“Cricket is a worldwide phenomenon, but not just yet in the USA,” says Rahul Walia, Cricket Bee Founder and Touchdown Media CEO.
“I thought that if I put a platform together where all kinds of people would come and be part of that game, it could leverage the passion for the sport, while promoting the game to the next generation.”
