Miss India-Canada looking for entries

 

If you are looking for career in the spotlight, dust off your portfolios and ship them to the Miss India-Canada organizers.
You have until June 3 to submit your entries. The winner will be announced in August.
The Miss India-Canada event  is one of the most anticipated and well known in the South Asian community. With over 20 years of innovation, the organizers, have continued to transform the Miss India-Canada event into a unique evening of glamour and style that allows an affluent South Asian community to come together to celebrate their cultural heritage.
The event is regularly graced by top Bollywood and Hollywood personalities, adding a touch of stardust to the evening while bringing in phenomenal media attention.
 Past years include celebrities like Dev Anand, Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon and Karen David. International actress, Lisa Ray graced last year’s occasion and had a fun time engaging with the audience.
Previous winners include  Kamal Sidhu (1991), Ruby Bhatia (1993), Gita Bali (1994), Rishma Malik (1996), Komila (Kim) Jagtiani (1999), and Neelam Verma (2001) who have all moved on to become movie actress/model, television star, model, entertainment host and video jockey.
The reigning Miss India-Canada, Akhina Mooken is currently pursuing a degree and diploma in early childhood education at Ryerson university. 
She recently visited India where she donated her time to help underprivileged children and various charitable organizations.
